He's a senior manager at his company. He offices from home on Mondays, and late afternoons too. His office set-up a phone line for him in our home. He has a (single) female junior manager always calling the house, almost every single day, within two minutes after I walk out the door. Then, a few months ago, I switched to 2nd shift. Now, she calls him, once again, right after I leave the house at 2:00PM. I told him I felt uncomfortable with her always seeming to call right after I walked out the door. She calls almost every single day. I pointed out the only way she could know that I was gone from the house is that he had to have told her when I'd be gone - either that, or she's extraordinarily lucky... or psychic. It's too consistent to be an accident - and the only way she would know when to call when I was gone would be if he had told her I would be gone. This girl is very flirtatious, and loves to play The Temptress at bi-annual family events where employees and their families gather. She flatters all the men endlessly, and when walking up to one will lightly place her fingers on their sleeve or arm. FRECKLES - try actually reading what I wrote. I do hold down a full-time job outside of our home, it's HIS EMPLOYER that insists that Mondays be Official Office-at-Home Days ("Communication Days") and it's retail, so he has to be "on-call" 7 days a week, basically 24 / 7. I wouldn't wish his job on my worst enemy, but he seems to love it.

www.yahoo.com is not set up to establish a connection to port "World Wide Web service" (HTTP) with this computer. As far as I know it isnt a DNS issue. I can't access any web pages using neither IE or Firefox. When this happens, other applications like AIM, Google Chat are still online and communicating fine. From the command prompt, I can still ping websites by their name (Example: ping www.google.com ) and get 100% responses meaning that DNS is functioning. I've tried disabling the ZoneAlarm firewall, the Windows Firewall has always been dissabled. I originally had SP2 installed for Vista but removed it thinking that was the issue but the issue still remains. I did a fresh install of Vista(after a full format), the issue came back 2 days later. Someone help me. And please understand that this this isn't an IE issue. It is a Vista issue because any port 80 traffic for any application does not go through. Even if I try to bring up my router's configuration page by IP address, the page still can not be displayed. It is not my router because at home I'm on wifi while at work on the same laptop, I'm using ethernet and still face the same issue. Sorry, I know I said alot. I'm getting desperate now lol Here's a summary: - Web browsers {IE7, IE8, Firefox3} stop displaying web pages (intranet & internet) - Other internet based applications using different port numbers are fine - DNS is fine because I can ping websites by name - Laptop has the issue regardless if I'm at work or at home - I'm the only one with Vista installed and am the only one who has the issue in the house - Windows firewall completely disabled - Zone Alarm firewall temporarily disabled, same issue - Vista SP1 has the issue. I checked it on the BBB and it does exist and they even have a website. So, I asked him why he didn't tell me this first and let me determine if i want to continue on with this? He stated that he was waiting on the right time for me the right time is always now than later. So, I took he's word and because at the time I didn't have anything else to go with. Not being naive or anything. I do care deeply for him. He always telling me he loves me and he was the first to tell me. He would come and visit me and stay week or 2 with me. He insured me that he was seperated but I need to see the papers and what about the divorce? He stated its coming just give its some time and things will workout. The wife had called me stating who she was and that she was pregnant but i didn't get into details with her. So that conversation was over. Here’s the thing: I run an online comic book store. Right now I only sell comic books. I’m fed up with trying to get table rates to work the way I want & failing to grasp it so decided to go with 25% handling fee (so, say, s&h;on a first class package will be $0.80 instead of $0.64). In my shipping & returns policy I was thinking of adding a little disclaimer explaining that in the future, as the store begins to sell other types of merchandise (clothes, toys, dvds) that the costs will change to accommodate the costs of these items. What might the risk be to my customer base by doing this? I don’t really have the budget right now to hire someone to design a table rate the way I want, and I work from home so I don’t have the extra overhead that would require me to charge higher shipping costs (a local competitor charges $7.99 s&h;on priority mail shipments under $10!) I see so many other similar businesses that use table rates I’m still a little torn as to if I should try and get it done at the start as opposed to later and risk driving long-time customers away. Hello everyone. I need your advice. This is going to be long. Before my wife and I got married and had a kid I for one was not ready but I loved her so I did what she wanted married her and gave her a child. I had a business I had invested all my life savings for. I told her that I wanted the business to succeed given that I invested my life savings so that when she got out of the military I had money and she could go to school and get her degree. Come April things were still bad In my business and with her and I. one day she calls me out of the blue and asks me to move to ca with here at this point I was like the business is done so ok why not. I was like I will just deal with it because my child was due in a few weeks and I at least wanted to be there for his birth. Enough was enough he came over every day. And it was not like I was a couch potato while she was working hell no I cooked every day. I dropped her off at work in the morning took her whatever she wanted for lunch cleaned the house made her diner did her laundry ironed her clothing I was doing something to help out. So I get mad and tell her she needs to choose either him or me she chose him again I was like I’m your husband that’s messed up but whatever. One day she says you need to leave I told her no I was staying with her. The next morning she comes and says if I don’t leave she will call the cops. I was like fine take me to airport. Figure this. I spent all the money I had furnishing our house. She drops me off in the middle of nowhere with no money nothing long story short I was able to get some money and fly to my house. I was pissed so I logged on to her face book and saw that this so called guy was her bf who she broke up with because I was coming over. I was hurt so bad I forgave her but she said no. we had our baby I missed his birth because she kicked me out of our house she then come to our home town where I’m at to basically ask for the divorce, I told her no I loved her to much I rather go to counseling blah blah blah she says its fine she loves me and what not. So then I still love her I forgot to add that I too was in the service I reenlisted because she wanted me too so I can have income and be with her. So I did now I’m active duty she won’t answer my calls and I have no idea how my son is. When she does call me she curses me out and says all kinds of horrible things to me. What do I do? I love her so much I would hate to lose her I’m not a ugly man at all she is not a ugly girl either but I love her should I just sing the divorce or fight for love. I'm not sure I even really have a question. I'd like to just throw this out there and see what comments come of it. I have a co-worker, of which I am personally fond of, and who is in a lower position than I, which is how I know the information I'm about to share. We work for a mental health agency, that caters to foster children of all ages up to 18. About 15 of our 50 children are bussed into our office from their homes and/or school to attend a therapy-based day program. The co-worker I mentioned above, was one of the counselors for the day program, also responsible for the transport of the clients to and from the program. This co-worker (call him Al), had not always been a model employee but has been one of the strongest forces in the day program. He was tenured and has a very intimate connection with our clients and their families, as well as with the majority of the entire staff (25 people). His downfalls were that he did not always complete his paperwork in a timely manner, which can be detramental to billing, his driver's license was once suspended (he made no mention of this until it was required of all driving staff to submit their driving records), but informed his direct supervisor about it, who informed the program manager, who overreacted and damn near had a heart attack and pulled Al from his route. The issue was then ressolved two days later. Al is an older man with some pretty serious health issues. He was involved in a collision once in a company vehicle, but managed to stay out of the line of fire and just recently, about two months ago, accidentially put his vehicle in reverse instead of park as he assumed he had, and with the vehicle door ajar and him completely outside of the vehicle, the vehicle rolled backwards, destroying the door as it hit the other company vehicle parked next to it, causing damage to that vehicle as well, about $4500 worth of damages to both vehicles. He is a well respected employee, despite these things, because you can never ask him for his help and not get it, he takes money from his own pocket for the clients and he doesn't even get paid much. He will work 16 hour days if requested, and has been denied overtime in the past for doing what he'd been asked to do by other staff. The ckients adore him as he is somewhat considered the father figure in the program. The kids not only relate to him, they respect him, which is quite hard to earn in this business. Today, Al was fired. Al got fored because he was on a run (bussing clients) and pulled over by the police and taken away, in front of the clients. The program manager was notified and immediately fired Al. Al didn't kbow because he was at the police station. Before the end of the day, Al called to explain that the officer took him in for a warrent that they later determined was not for Al. The program manager wanted to know why Al was pulled over and Al said he didn't know. He was not issued a ticket, warning or anything. Later in the evening, Al's direct supervisor went to Al's home to pick up his office keys and cell phone. I was instructed to delete his email and login. His termination has been requested and will be completed tomorrow morning. The clients, their parents and the staff alike will all be devastated when they find out. Does this sound fair to you? The clients are going to have a fit when they find out. Is this normal procedure? We are in an "at-will" state, meaning that you can be fired without notice or reason, and you can quit without notice or reason. Thanks for your opinions. S - don't be a geek! everyone likes Al...
